1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, inviting contributors, purchasing a Keepsake Project, or
submitting a contribution through a response link, you agree to these Terms of Service. If
you are acting on behalf of a family or organization, you confirm that you have authority
to accept these terms.
2. Eligibility
Keepsake is made for adults preserving family history. It is not directed to children, and
we do not knowingly let anyone under 18 use it.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase a Project, or submit a
contribution through a response link.
- Do not invite anyone under 18 to contribute. If you receive a response link and are
under 18, please do not use it.
- Adults may include memories that describe or show family members of any age. That is
content about a person, which section 5 governs, and is different from a person using
the service.
- If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account or submitted a contribution, we
will remove it. Tell us at support@makekeepsake.com and we will act promptly.
3. Accounts & security
- Provide accurate registration information and keep your password confidential.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately
if you suspect unauthorised access.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or
compromise security.
4. Project purchases & billing
- A Keepsake Life Project is a one-time purchase and does not renew automatically. It
includes ongoing access while the purchase remains active and one included printed copy.
Delivery and handling are charged when you order. The total and supported destination
are shown before payment.
- Payments are processed by a specialist payment provider. We never store full payment
card details. Project purchases are available only where we can lawfully accept payment,
and a book can be ordered only where checkout offers delivery to the selected
destination.
- The included copy is used once, on the first paid print order. Additional copies are
charged at the price shown at checkout and do not receive Project-purchase promotions.
An approved promotion may reduce the Project price to zero without removing its included
copy. A zero-paid purchase has no payment to refund. Any destination import charges are
separate from amounts collected by Keepsake; we disclose applicable delivery terms
before payment.
- You may request a full refund of the Project purchase within 14 days, provided no print
order has been placed. After refund, the Project is locked for a 30-day recovery window;
only complete export, repurchase, and deliberate deletion remain available. Unless you
repurchase within that window, the Project is deleted automatically. Deletion leaves
printed QR URLs in place but makes their media playback unavailable.
- A print order cannot be cancelled or changed after it is placed, including before
printing starts, because each book is made for that order.
- If a book is damaged, materially misprinted, incorrectly bound, incomplete, wrong,
missing, lost, or cannot be fulfilled, contact support with the order number and
photographs where applicable. We will replace the affected copy at no additional cost.
If replacement is unavailable, repeatedly unsuccessful, or another remedy is required by
law, we will refund the affected order or provide that remedy. You do not need to return
a book unless we ask you to and pay the return cost.
- Please report a print problem promptly, ideally within 30 days after shipment. This does
not shorten any mandatory right. Normal print-on-demand variation and content, layout,
or crop choices approved in the preview are not manufacturing defects.
- Nothing in these terms limits any refund, replacement, or other remedy required by
applicable consumer law.
5. Family content and contributions
Who owns what
- You keep ownership of the memories, recordings, photos, and stories you create.
Contributors keep ownership of what they contribute.
The permission you give us
- Whoever creates a memory grants Keepsake a limited, non-exclusive licence to store,
process, transcribe, arrange, print, and deliver it for the Project it was submitted to,
including processing by the service providers described in our Privacy Policy, access by
Project members, and the owner's chosen Story sharing and printed QR playback.
- A contributor grants that same licence when they submit through a response link, and it
covers only the Project that link belongs to.
- We do not sell family content, publish it independently of the Project's sharing and
printing choices, or use it to train artificial-intelligence models.
The permission you confirm you have
- When you invite someone, you confirm you may share their name and contact details with
us so we can deliver the invitation.
- When you add content that shows, names, or describes another person, you confirm you
have their permission or the authority to act for them.
- An adult may include content about a child when they are the child's parent or legal
guardian, or otherwise have appropriate permission or authority. Include sensitive
information only when it is necessary and appropriate for the Project's sharing and
printing choices.
- Do not upload content that infringes someone’s rights, contains unlawful material, or
exposes someone’s private life without their agreement.
Removing a contribution
- A contributor may ask for their contribution to be removed at any time, either through
the Project owner or by contacting us directly.
- We can remove content from the service and stop the QR playback bound to it. We cannot
change or recall books that have already been printed.
6. Printed books, QR codes, and permanence
- A printed Keepsake book can include QR codes that play recordings from the Project.
Anyone with the QR address can play the recording without an account or password,
whether or not they hold the book. They can copy or forward that address. We ask search
engines not to index playback pages; this is not access control or a guarantee of
secrecy.
- Printed links are stable and keep their original recording binding while the Project
retains that recording. Later edits or re-recording do not silently change an existing
book's playback. Include only recordings you have permission to share this way.
- Deleting or editing a Story does not remove a recording retained for an already-paid
book. Deleting the whole Project removes retained recordings and stops their printed QR
playback; the app warns you before confirmation. Previously issued playback downloads
may remain usable until their access expires, and copies already downloaded cannot be
recalled. A printed book cannot be altered after it is made.
- A Project owner may also create a share link for a single Story. Anyone with that link
can read it until the owner turns the link off.
7. Service availability
We aim for uninterrupted access but may perform maintenance or suspend the service to
protect security. Features may evolve; we will communicate material changes in advance.
8. Warranties & disclaimers
We must provide the service and books in accordance with our description and the standards
required by applicable law. Transcription and automated suggestions can contain mistakes;
review your content before ordering and keep personal backups of irreplaceable originals.
Keeping a backup or reviewing a book does not remove rights you have under mandatory
consumer law, including the Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act.
9. Limitation of liability
Responsibility for loss is determined under applicable law. The age of your one-time
Project purchase does not by itself remove your right to a remedy.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence,
for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or
excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination
You may schedule account closure from Settings. A 30-day grace period lets you cancel the
request or resolve an unfinished purchase, refund, dispute, or print order before closure
completes. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or misuse the
service. Closing your account does not automatically remove contributions retained in
another owner's Project; contact us about your rights in that content. After closure we
retain the payment, tax, dispute, fulfilment, security, or other records required by law
or needed to complete existing obligations.
11. General
- If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the
unenforceable part is applied as closely as the law allows to its original intent.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer
ours to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, and
your rights are unaffected.
- Events beyond reasonable control may delay service or delivery. We will explain a
material delay and the available next step. Such an event does not remove mandatory
remedies for a book or service we cannot supply, including where a supplier fails.
- Not enforcing a provision once does not waive the right to enforce it later.
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Keepsake for
the service and replace any earlier understanding.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes will be handled by the
courts of Singapore, subject to applicable consumer protection regulations. If you are a
consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country
where you live.
13. Changes
We will post updates with a revised effective date and give reasonable advance notice of
material changes. If applicable law or the nature of a change requires fresh agreement, we
will ask for it. Otherwise, the updated terms apply to continued use after the stated
date. An update does not retroactively change an already-placed order or remove accrued
consumer rights.
