How Keepsake uses cookies

This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies we use to operate and improve Keepsake.

Effective date: 28 September 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use similar technologies like local storage and tracking pixels.

2. Cookies we use

  • Essential cookies: Required to keep you signed in, remember project selections, and secure the app experience.
  • Optional analytics technologies: With your permission, our website-analytics providers, including Google Analytics, receive public page URLs, referrers, device or browser details, and page or feature usage. Our performance measurement records public-page speed and visits with the same permission, using public URLs, referrers and browser details without cross-site visitor tracking. These technologies are not loaded on private Project, response-link, permanent playback, checkout, or operator pages. Keepsake also stores a temporary code so we can connect a public visit with account creation or purchase. The code does not contain your name or email, and we remove it if you withdraw analytics consent.
  • Product measurement: When you use the service, Keepsake records a limited set of actions such as sending a Question, submitting a Story, playing a printed recording, or preparing a book. This server-side measurement does not use an analytics cookie, record page content, or include Stories, answers, transcripts, recording content, photographs, names, email addresses, or delivery addresses.
  • Payment cookies: Our payment processor sets cookies when you complete purchases to prevent fraud and remember checkout preferences.
  • Marketing technologies: With your permission, we use pixels and similar technologies from third parties, including Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Reddit. They receive page-visit and conversion events and use identifiers to measure our ads. You can decline them without affecting your use of Keepsake.

Google explains how it uses this information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

3. Managing cookies

You can adjust your browser settings to refuse or delete cookies. If you disable essential cookies, parts of Keepsake may not function correctly. Use to grant or withdraw optional website analytics and marketing consent at any time.

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, Keepsake treats it as a limit on marketing measurement. Withdrawing a category starts a fresh page so page-level tracking listeners are no longer active.

4. Updates

We may update this cookie policy when we add new features or vendors. We’ll post the changes here with an updated effective date.
